Someone help a silly girl -

All the lights on my dashboard and headlights are flashing when i press
the breaks, thought it was the battery so i changed it with a new one but
problem still occurs. Please tell me its not gonna cost £hundreds because
i wanted to sell it this month.

Anyone know what is causing this. TA!

Need more info:

Do the lights dim, or go out altogether? Does it happen when the car is in
motion, or when it is parked? Or both?
What happens when you turn the 4-way flashers on? Does applying the brake
affect them also? Does it affect the heater/radio/wipers/other electrical
devices in the car?

Enquiring minds want to know...

It does happen when the car is in motion or parked. When I turn the 4-way flashers on it's the same result. Other electrical devices work fine. When I am in reverse it always flashes, but when I am in D it's ok. And after few gear changes it stops doing this.

If anybody knows the solution or has any idea, please post here.

And can it be a reason for a failed MOT?
