Red & blue lights on dash

Post subject: Red & blue lights on dash

just bought 86 coupe that has 2 lites over the headlight control on dash .
Every once in awhile they will come on sometimes blue sometimes red
have no clue what they are or what they do, car came out of Californa any
idea's on what They may be ?

Can u trace the wire(s) that are attached to them to see where they go ?
Do they look factory or aftermarket that somebody put on ? If you were
to add a green light and a yellow light to go along with the blue and
red ones....youd be one step closer to getting in the Christmas spirit !

This car has had more things added to it over the years lord only knows
what they go to possible there is rader detector in stalled and this is it.
Will check when ever I take dash apart thanks

This may have been someone's home-brew attempt to comply with CVC 24400.
Take a look for a moisture sensor on the outside of the car.

Calif vehicle code now requires headlamps to be on when windshield
wipers are on. Auto makers were given a 'heads-up' on this in 1999 and
several started including a relay between the WSW control and the
headlamps for Calif cars back in 2000.

A couple of years ago, there were late night TV ads for after market
kits to do this. IIRC, the second violation is $ 150 so this stuff had
some market.

C4 Digital Dash - I have an 86 digital dash that went black. When I disconnect the wiring harness for about ten seconds then reconnect it and turn the key on everything works fine for about 15 seconds then goes black again.Just wondering if its worth trying to change the....

1980 Dash Overlay -

digital dash losing memory - The digital dash is losing memory. It shouldn't lose the odometer, but it does. Is there something wrong with the dash or a short?
