Odd problem. It appears that occaisionally the rear brake lights stay on after turning off the engine and removing the keys. My first thought is the switch that must be near the actual brake pedal in the Windstar. Anybody else seen this and is my first thought a correct assumption? Thanks in advan..

« Sounds to me like you have a straight short to ground on your brake switch. When it does it the next time, disconnect the switch, and see if they stay on. If they dont, then you know its the switc.. »

After I start my windstar in park it will not let me shift it into drive. I also just found out that none of the rear light are working. I understand that there is a sensor,relay? for this problem. Where is it? -- Message posted using More information at

Two days ago I drove my car home from work and didnt realize the brake lights were stuck on. They drained the battery but that was easily fixed, the real problem is that i cannot find a way to turn them off short of removing the fuse. Which is the third or fourth from the bottom on the left side..
