I took my 97 Tacoma, 4 cylinder, to the dealership two days ago for a minor tuneup. After leaving I noticed this problem. While sitting at stop lights, my tacometer will slowly work its way down from 800 RPM to 600 RPM, Once It gets down that low the engine will knock and idle hard and then after about 15 seconds of this, it will kick in and run at 800 RMP again. It continuously runs this cycle. It wasn't doing this prior to the tuneup. Thoughts? >> Stay informed about: RPM on Tacoma
