Try starting the engine with the headlights on. If the lights go very dim
or don't light up bright then the bearing in the starter motor has gone -
replace with new or reconditioned starter motor. It could also be that
there is a couple of teeth missing from the flywheel on the engine. To
check this out try puting the car in first gear - with the engine switched
off and stopped, release the handbrake and rock the car forwards and
backwards. Pull up the handbrake, put the gears in neutral and then try
starting the engine as nirmal. If this works there are a few teeth missing
on the flywheel, and the only way to stop this re occurring is to renew
it....
