Post subject: Pontiac 6000- Lost power on freeway, engine became jerky...

While Driving On The Freeway Today, The Best Way To Describe What Happened Is That I Lost Most Of The Power I Usually Have And The Engine Began To Run 'jerkily', Almost Felt Like Maybe A Cylinder Stopped Firing? I Was Accellerating, And As I Hi About 65 Was Going Zoooommm, Then It Stopped, And Went Zoo--oo-ooo-oo If That Makes Any Sense. I Didn't Hear It, But Felt It (my Radio Was Pretty Loud. Razz)Pulled Over, Turned It Off, Turned It Back On, And The Engine Sounded Almost Subdued, Definitely Much Quieter Than Usual. I Tried To Accellerate, Very Gently, And The Best Way To Describe It Was Almost Jerky, Not Smooth And, Normal. I Could Hear That The Engine Was Not Firing Correctly... Or Something... I Ended Up Having It Towed, While Waiting For The Tow Truck, The Battery Died Within A Half Hour (idk If This Is Relevant Or Not..) Anyways... Any Idea What It Could Be?
