Can anyone suggest a means of
playing audio cassettes through the
sound system of an 09 Camry SE?
(It has no cassette player.)

1. You can replace the head unit with a CD/Cassette Combination.

2. You can use a portable cassette player and run the output into the
auxiliary input of the car (if there is one) or use an FM modulator to
play them through the FM radio (not recommended).

3. You can buy one of those USB turntables, one that has a line-in jack,
and plug a cassette deck into the turntable, than make MP3 files and put
them on a CD. Or if your desktop computer has a sound card with line-in
you can get some software that will do the same thing.

4. Buy an old 8 track car stereo on eBay. Then buy a 8 Track Stereo
Cassette Adapter on eBay. Install these below the dash. Then run speaker
wires to your existing speakers and install some toggle switches to
switch between the factory sound system and the add on system.

You could buy a portable cassette player (battery operated or 12V) that
feeds into an aux input of your car unit (I am assuming the 09 Camry has an
aux input, but not certain of that).

Or can you transfer the cassette to CD-R using your computer (you will need
a cassette player and a computer that has a "line in" connection on the
audio ports). That is what I did for a few audio books and lectures that
were on cassette that I wanted to listen to on a long trip. Later I
transferred it to my iPod that I now feed into the aux unit of my car
receiver.

Yeah, that's the best option. LOL!

Otherwise I think a Walkman and Aux input is the cheapest, quickest
way.

I think if he goes to Olson Electronics or Lafayette Electronics then he
can find what he needs.
