Hi...
you asked for Feedback on the Volvo V50.

Got mine last week. 2.0D V50 R-Design sport.

Only had it one week but, have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by it.
I was quite prepared to hate it... but apart from some minor niggles, it is
a pretty good car.

Cons (mostly pretty minor)
Small load bay. It is by no means a 'loadlugger'. However I took the option
of tyre seal kit over a spare wheel. so the wheel well is extra space.
Loadspace net (from seat to roof) is a fiddle to fit.
No ashtray.. I don't smoke..but nowhere to put my sweetie wrappers.
12V lighter socket is poorly positioned. Chargers, if plugged in get in the
way.
Cubby hole behind the dash is a bit inacessible.
Instrument lights for the headlight control module reflect in the wing
mirror.
Can't fit an aftermarket stereo head unit, dash wont take it. And, if it did
you'd be left with redundant knobs on the fascia.
No foot rest next to the clutch.
Ignition key is on the left.

Pro's
Nice interior. Leather and T-tec I think it's called. Black and cream.
Body kit makes the appearance in my opinion.
Comfortable. (My 156 gave me backache)
Good firm seats. I always found the 156 to be a bit soft.
Seems quite nippy for a Diesel.
Handles well.. feels smaller than it is.
Dashboard is pretty unique.
Good sounding standard issue stereo, with 3mm jack plug to for aux in.
Fuel tank is a bit small. £45 to fill it.
Huge Deep glovebox.
Good airflow controls.. you can have any combination of feet, face, body

I've got it on a one year package..
I'd rather be in a 159 SW...but...
I have to say that If I'd taken a 3 year deal, I don't think i'd be cursing
that decision.

SS

Oooh, thanks for that.

I got 'upgraded' today, so although a nice spec. V50 is on my list, it's
not on my personal shortlist.

I'll be looking at a new Audi A4, another Passat (170bhp Sport trim with
DSG 'flappy paddle' box), a C220CDI Sports Coupe or possibly even a BMW
320d SE.....

With some lo-pro's for closing that Donnelly's deal?
