Peugoet 1.1 xn graduate rattling probelms

My 1994 Peugoet has done roughtly 89,000 miles andi have just recently passed my test im only 17 and im a student, when i first started driving the car was fine the 3rd day it started to jerk in 2nd and 3rd gear but that was quite rare but then is started to get worse, anyways i had a full car and i was revesing for about 50 meaters and then i heard 2 big bangs in the engine i turned the car off and let it rest, soon as i got back in the car and pulled off i heard big metalic rattling nosies and every time i change gear it gets louder, so the higher the gear the louder it would be and the more gas would make it louder, im really getting worried but when im costing the car makes no rattling sounds at all so i think it got somthing to do with my clutch, but i want to wht you guys think.
