Oil Pressure Light

Anyone know of an oil pump problem on the taurus 24v6cyl? MY2000 I have a problem with the oil pressure light going on. This happens when the engine is warm. I have tried heavier oil, and it cut down on the light-on condition. Even with the light on, the rocker gallery has plenty of oil. Thanks
« Be safe, put a mechanical gauge on it and see what it is. You may just have a bad sender. Al »

When ever I apply the brake with a little force the oil pressure light comes on-As soon as I apply the gas it goes out-If I apply the brake very easy it never comes on. Any suggestions?

hi everyone, experiencing something weird on my 97 td jetta: all of a sudden, tha tach meter went to zero while driving. at the same time, the oil pressure warning light came flashing on. That pressure light dosn't come from the pressure switch: I checked it... I alos noticed a lightly glowing ..

« I did a google search on your symptoms . you are not the only one who has had this happen. Several posters found the alt. belt loose and one fixed his by whacking the alt. with 18 mm spanner. Yikes »

Oil pressure light and chime come on under 30MPH when accelerator is released. Goes off once accelerator is depressed. Oil level is correct. 131,000 miles on 4-cylinder engine. Were is the oil pump, and how is it driven? Thanks. Doug B.
« Doug, replace the oil pressure sending switch and clean out the connector if it is contaminated with oil and more then likely that will take care of your problem. That is of course if you have prope.. »

I was driving my constant pain in the ass silouette the other day all of a sudden oil was spraying up my rear window and the low oil pressure light came on and bells were ringing. Upon pulling over I saw oil dripping from what at the time I thought the starter area...I filled up with oil and made ..
