The Oil Light

Howdy y'all. Just recently my car started doing something very strange. The oil light comes on when the car is off, but when I turn it on the light goes off. I've checked the dipstick, and I have enough oil in there. What could possibly be going on. Thanks! Peace -Ben-
« What's the car? The oil light indicates oil pressure, not the quantity of oil in the sump. There is no oil pressure when the engine is off so the light would be on, except that turning the key off.. »

I have a 2002 325i with 120,000 miles. For a while now, the yellow oil light will come on just after I start the car. It goes out after a couple of seconds. It doesn't happen every time. It never goes on after I've been driving; it's only sometimes after I have started it. The oil level is ok...

« Did you check ALL the fuses. check for voltage at the sensor. chances are the sensor is faulty. why not wait unitl your next oil change to repalce the sensor. this way the oil is already out of the .. »

I have a 2000 Chrysler Neon, When the engine is fully warmed up after that if i stop on a Red light the Oil light comes with a beep and it goes when i accelerate. If doesnot come when the car is running and It doesnot come when the engine is cold. It comes and go only when engine is warmed up well..
