Hey all!

Sorry I've been away so long. I keep seeing teasers about the new uber-
Ferrari and I'm thinking that, aside from the usual it's-not-a-Lusso
looks problems they are getting it right by going for similar power to
the Enzo with much lighter weight. I was worried we'd see the usual
"make it fatter and add power" escalation, but apparently somebody
there still has some sense after seeing how over the top and tacky the
Bugatti turned out.

Your thoughts...?

Yeah-yeah. If you send me some damn pics there might be more. It's not like
I can go on my grand tours every five minutes you know!

Ackshully, My Mrs has some much better pics of the tour than I took (as
usual) so one of these days I'll get her to sort them out (she only took
about 2,000) and then there'll be another update.

Meanwhile...

WELCOME BACK! We* missed you.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Less 599, more reduced size, add lightness.

What was the old saying? "Simplicate and add lightness?"

I cannot believe how fat most cars are nowadays. I understand that
having twelve airbags, meeting modern crash tests, making cars bank-
vault quiet, and fitting ever-larger backsides into the seats requires
more heft, but a new Jetta weighs as much as my old Z28 did, and they
offered the VW with a 100hp diesel! Apparently you spell pig "VW"
now... Yeesh! My old '84 Jetta was about 2100lbs, with 90hp. Half the
fun of small cars is their tossability, and when a compact weighs
3000+ pounds there goes the plot. Adding more power to an overweight
car is a bandaid measure at best.

I like the 599 fine for what it is, but it is refreshing to see the
start of a movement toward lightness again.

Huh? forgiven? forgotten? I didn't think i ever posted enough to
piss anyone off....unless posting a pic of my Subaru rubbed you the
wrong way. Its faster than a porch boxster (not saying much) but it
is a station wagon. Ive been "around in the ether" since i started
lookin at this ng.

Saw a 599 on the road the other day, they are growing on me, i didn't
like the roundedness of the newer ferraris, 355 is still my favorite,
looks wise. Also saw an FXX through a window at the Wynn in vegas.
10 bucks just to go in the dealership, bastards. Still want to drive
one, anyone want to go skiing in mammoth?

Now that i live in california, i wish i wouldnt have used the name
RicDeez, oh well, whats done is done
