Post subject: Metal grinding sound from engine
Archived from groups: alt>autos>honda (more info?)
When I start up my 1993 Honda civiv ex I notice a mtal grinding sound
coming from I think the engine. When I am driving the car I am also
noticing the sound ...could be the belts or is there something wrong
w/the engine???

Have you opened your hood to see if anything is amiss?

Could be anything. Worse/scariest sound I ever heard was from under
the hood of a Prelude like 82? 84? which sounded like it thrown all
the rods, not just one. Worse, because it was a friend of mine's and I
was just about to return it. turns out, I had left it with the (huge)
hood up for a while when I went in, and the wind had slammed the hood
shut and folded the support rod in half, so that the new elbow on it
was just long enough to clang on a pulley.

The problem is now fixed, it ended up being an idle pulley

dragging sound? - last night when I went to back up I noticed a sort of dragging sound in my 06 accord.. I got out and checked the wheel wells to see if something was caught in it, I didn't notice anything, but I pulled forward it didn't make that sound. so I stopped..

mp3 player through my Fit's sound system - I love my Base Honda Fit but there is one thing I wish I had but don't....an mp3 input jack so I can play my mp3 player through my Fit's sound system(no, I don't have and Ipod). Is there some way I can do this? Can Honda do this for me?

Buzzing sound when activating power locks - If you have a problem with a loud buzzing sound when you lock the door, I have figured out a way to fix if for free! This will work on most Honda's from 94 on up. To replace the power lock motors takes aprox- 3/4 hr each, but the motor it self is over..

Buzzing sound in rear driver-side door - I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX 4 Door. There is a buzzing sound in a my rear, driver-side door everytime I lock my doors. Is there a way to disable the power lock on that side - I was going to take out the fuse, but I believe that the fuse is for all of..

buzzing sound from the glove compartment ....if I dont tur.. - I have a honda civic 2001, I normally start the car and put the vehicle in drive and the daytime running lights initate.Now , when I start the car put the vehicle in drive then the drl lights on dashboard goes on and off and also there is a buzzing sound...
