I saw the Mr. Magoo operation a few years ago in Seattle- I think in
2005. They were about three trailers down from the Kalittas. It was
quite a contrast: Kalitta racing was all shiny, rubber mats on the
ground, lots of crew members in uniforms, all busy with thier appointed
task. The Sosenkas were the type of operation last seen at a National
event in the early 80s. They had an old school enclosed trailer for
their car and a dually tow rig. Their car was on gravel and two or
three of they were doing what they could. I don't think they tore down
between runs becasue they probably had no parts to put in so what was
the point. They turned times from the late 90s
I do remember their big day from 2002. Tony Schumacher was almost proud
to have been beaten by Don. He called it "Being Magooed". Everybody who
works hard deserves a day like that when everything seems to be going
right and Don had his.
Joey was a young guy- 21 years old. I'm sorry for what has happened to
the family and will be thinking of them
