Post subject: Question for my JVC deck in a 93 Mercury Topaz Coupe

So I have a problem with my car. Yesterday I was driving home and the stereo just shit out. I parked the car to go to the gym and then I tried to turn the car back on and the stereo worked fine. Then, after I left the YMCA the stereo gave out again at about 10 minutes down the road. I tried turning the stereo back on, but it wouldn't work. I left the car for about 4 hrs at home, and tried to turn it on but the stereo wouldn't turn on or eject the CD by force either. I tried to reset the system like the book says but it wouldn't reset. This morning, when I turned on the car the CD ejected and then the stereo turned off and it won't turn on again.

I never did anything outside of the ordinary with the stereo, and it's only 2 years old. I'm thinking it could be the alternator but nothing else is slowing down (lights, heat, ignition etc.).

Anybody have any ideas?
