Post subject: Invader help
Archived from groups: alt>autos>kitcars (more info?)

I have an old Invader kit car that is in need of help. This
mounted on a cut down VW chassis and was made back around the late
70's.
The problem is the gull wing doors are beyond hope, the
interior is beat from being outside under cracked doors and the
electrical wiring is brittle. Overall the body is fine and only needs
light work to bring it back . The steering shaft and front turn
signals are beat and I would like to upgrade the chassis to an IRS
rather than the old swing axle in place now.
I am not so much looking for parts as I am for information. I
don't need original paperwork, etc, scans would do just fine. I would
like info on the chassis alteration, wiring diagrams, as well as
possible info on where the signals, streing gear, and interior
upholstery were from as well as possible door templates. (I am
considering steel framed gulls with a better lock system and removable
hatch roofs as well as operable side windows to replace the original
plexiglass ones)
If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I can post or send
pics of the car if it would help.
I would really like to get this machine back on the road where
it belongs.
