Post subject: Honda Accord 1990 EX Exhaust flex pipe section

Hello,

I have a 1990 Honda Accord EX. The flex pipe section in the front pipe also known as Exhaust pipe A is leaking. I see that NAPA sells flex pipe sections.

Can you cut out and replace the flex pipe section with one from NAPA? If so do you know the dimentions of the replacement piece?

Thanks for your help.

Carl

I wouldn't do any cutting on your exhaust. I'm sure that they sell that whole section and you can just unbolt from each end, and replace. I belive the section you are referring to is between the exhaust manifold and the cat. They sell that whole piece, with the flex pipe in it, and that's the best way to go. If you get into cutting and welding, it becomes much more work, and you run the risk of ending up with leaks, and causing fitment problems next time you change another part of the exhaust.
Trust me, it's more trouble to cut it out and replace than it's worth - just buy the piece you need and some bolts/gaskets for each end, and you're all set. You won't have to go to the dealer, either Napa, or another quality auto parts store will have the part you need.
