For the sake of some chatter I'm heading for Des Moines, IA this weekend
to attend the Goodguys Heartland Nationals. The good part is that I only
have 70 miles to drive to get there. It looks like they are going to
have some good weather. I think I will go on Friday to check out the
vendors & swap meet, and Sat. to check out the cars. It said in the
paper that they are expecting approx. 3500 cars.

If I remember I will take the digital and take some photos to put
online, in case anyone wants to see some cars from the midwest.

I was driving to Davenport this morning and saw two interesting cars for
sale. One was a 1935 or '36 Ford Trunk Back Sedan (I could only see the
back) and the other one was a '53 or '54 Studebaker. They looked to be
in decent shape from the road but I didn't have time to stop and look. I
may have to make a trip back by myself to check them out. Anyway it
makes for an interesting drive.....

I live about a mile from the Iowa State Fairgrounds and pass them every
day going to work. I've yet to be able to go due to prior commitments.
Maybe this year will be different.

I have problems with that also. We have a family get together every 4th
of July. None of the family is going to be here until Sat. night this
year so I will be able to go Fri & Sat. :^)
