Post subject: Gazelle Pinto/Mustang II suspension

I purchased an assembled Gazelle kit based on a Pinto V6 engine and 4spd trans. The rear axle is not centered in the wheel arches and it needs to be moved ahead about 2 inches to place the tires in the proper position. I was wondering if the builder used the wrong springs when he built the car. The frame has a second set of mounting points but they would locate the springs even further back. Did the Pinto/ Mustang springs have different lenghts?
I appreciate hearing from anyone who has built one of these.
Thanks.
