that was an ignorant reply and hope you took it with a grain of salt...
if it smells like that only when you start it....it maybe due to the fact that the computer runs the car rich on purpose for warm up. remember on the old carburated cars you'd pump the gas to set the choke? This is basically the same thing only its all done by the computer, thats why even on the coldest of days it fires right up without a hitch.
on the other hand if it smells like gas all of the time....then the fuel leak is a valid answer...
