I watched Dick Durbin being interviewed yesterday about the gas prices.
The interviewer asked him why he thought the oil companies where
gouging the public. The interviewer read some facts to Durbin that the
profit margin for oil companies was 9 cents a gallon and 58 cents a
gallon for federal taxes. Durbin wouldn't comment on that and just
kept pointing out the record profits and retiring CEO payments. He
refused to consider lowering the federal tax rate, saying it was needed
to repair and maintain highways and was a good way to force
conversation through user fees.
If Big Oil is netting 9 cents a gallon and making record profits
wouldn't that indicate the volume of gas they sell has increased
exponentially? How else is it that they are generating these profits?
How about the government -- aren't they making "windfall profits" also?

No one is going to care. They will see record gas prices coinciding with
record oil industry profits. They will also remember that Bush and Cheney
are oil men. Wait till November! >> Stay informed about: Gas Prices Thanks Democrats! |

I am going to tell you up front that you won't see Saddam or any Iraqis in
the movie. Those will be Saudis you see hijacking the plane. BTW, bin

Our good friend Little Richard AKA Dick is correct for a change. Since the
Presidents tax rate cuts went into effect the economy has been booming. If
not for the millions of new jobs and the ever growing profits being produced
by our ever growing economy, the government would not be collecting the
billions of dollars in new revenue from the corporations, stockholders, and
workers that is needed to pay for our world wide war on radical Islamic
terrorism
