Assume automatic transmission, we are at the cruising speed of let's say 40 mph and I take the foot off the gas... Start loosing speed, aproaching read light, brake - stop. Has anyone had the problem of the gas pedal sticking? When I start off or I am driving there seems to be, what seems like, something stoping me from pushing the ppedal in. When I put more pressure on the gas and it "breaks free" it will go faster. Not exactly smooth driving. Has anyone had simi..

Hi, I just bought a Standard 98 Honda Civic with 72,000km. The first gear seems to run high. It's not a smooth and gradual acceleration. It seems to engage at high rpm's immediately. Is this normal on Honda Civic's? I used to have a Standard Toyota Corrolla and I remember the first gear being very..

Bought 2002 Accord coupe new. It has 40K miles. Just a few months after purchase the accelerator seemed to stick when starting up. Dealer "cleaned" something and the problem went away, only to return about 6 months later. I've had whatever it is in there "cleaned" a few more times since- the prob..

Except that it isn't literally "sticky". I cleaned and lubed the throttle cable, and it's perfectly OK as long as the engine is off. With the engine running, when you're at a stop light the pedal gets "sticky" and requires a relatively hard push to get moving again. Feels like you have to overcome..

My sonata 2002 v6 , has 152,000 hwy miles, does not start unless i press the gas pedal almost half the way, or pump the gas pedal while cranking. I have to keep the pedal holding down so that its at 1200+ rpm, but the moment I reduce the pressure on gas pedal, engine stops. There is no CEL light ..
