Hi there,

I wondered if anyone can help point me in the right direction?

I have a 1999 GTV twinspark which has just started to become hesitant
when pulling away slowly. It has also stalled a few times in traffic
but there are no warning lights on. Also the temperature guage often
reads a little higher than normal but fan cuts in as normal. The car
has now covered 125k miles. Still pulls well at higher revs .
Does anybody have any suggestions what to look at first?
Thanks in advance
steve

Even when it's stalled? That would indicate loss of electrics. Which
could do anything.

Also the temperature guage often

Alternator perhaps, earth connections thereto.

Have a look at the plugs yet? Sounds like they'd be top of my list.

I described the fault really badly!

I mean that no warning lights like the injection one come on. Not that
it lost electrics. Sorry about my description.

It is most noticable leaving my driveway as I have to go really slow
or it grounds the car getting on the road. Also in stop start traffic
it feels like the tickover needs to be turned up a bit, it is almost
ready to cut out/ stall.

I think it is either ignition or injection fault, is a MAF fault more
likely to be noticed at higher revs??

Could it be coil packs or any common problems?

Nope, sounds like it might be a MAF to me.

That is also possible, but less likely IMHO
