Was unaware that Ford made any recent car with a reserve tank.

The 2008 Focus owner's manual says to not run the vehicle with any less than
1 gallon. It also cautionss regarding driving on steep inclines when
running at or near that level. Tank holds 13 gallons.

Assuming you are referring to the amount left in the tank when the low fuel
warning light comes on? Wait until the light comes on then fill right up.
Subtract the amount you put in from the total tank capacity (50 litres I
think) and you have the answer. It will be around 8-10 litres in my
experience.

I'll second Ed's advice. With the warning light on, a refill takes
about 11.5 gallons in a 14-gallon tank. So I've got a 2.5 gallon
reserve. The warning light comes on when the fuel gage reads
1/8 full.

The 2.3 Liter PZEV engine came with a 14-gallon fuel tank.
All other engines came with a 13.2 gallon tank.

Hope this helps,
Don
