I have a 1989 Honda Accord which appears to be 'missing'. I changed the dist. cap and it did nothing. I am going to change plugs wires and fuel filters but have no idea where they are. I believe it is a carburated model and I need to know where to find the primary and secondary fuel filter. It..

« Sounds like you need new plugs, and probably also wires. That will probably cure the missing. MK »

Can someone advise where the fuel filter is located on a 2001 QX4? Is there more than one filter? Easy to get to? Thank you. MC
« If its like the '02 Pathfinder, look underneath, in the middle, just forward of the rear axle. If you drop the spare, its pretty easy to get to it. »
« But be careful, the gas on the engine side is under pressure, and you'll get a a fair amount of loose gas. Do it out side, no smoking, »
« If you pull the fuel pump fuse and try to start the car first. That will relieve the pressure. Chuck Tribolet wrote: »
« Even after relieving the pressure, gas will still run out the hoses. I found it helpful to have a couple of fat pencils to stick in the ends of the hoses when you get the filter off. Less gas drip.. »

Any one have any comments about installing a fuel filter in between the fuel pump and carbies on a Type 3 ( or I guess any car). You hear the odd comment you shouldnt but apart from the filter bursting under pressure I cant think of any reason why not. John
« I have not seen a "filter" burst yet but I have seen the lines/hoses come off or break and start spewing fuel over the engine. You kinda want to keep "extra" connections to a minimum and your idea .. »
« The bursting issue is not the worst of your worries, it's the added unsuspended weight of a filter full of fuel, flopping around in the engine bay, that is sending tugs and jerks up the hose and i.. »
« The fuel line separated on the '58. It was behind the engine, of course. Just a pain in the butt - better than a fire. »
« Aw, Jan, the thing can be covered in sealed-cell foam and tied down. It won't put weight on anything. I'll send a picture of my setup... when the fire department leaves. »

I want to replace the fuel filter on my 88 GT and was wondering where is the filter located???
« I think it's back by the lines coming out of the gas tank. »
« should be underneath the body attached to frame, kind of under the rear passenger side seat and gas tank, near rear passenger side tire. »
« thanks for the info guys! »
« now that i know the location of the filter (right where you described)...how do i relive the pressure in the line? »

Anyone know where the diesel filter is located on a 2006 520d? I took all the bottom panels off and I can't find it. Thanks in anticipation, Pete
« Follow the fuel lines from the tank because it's going to be connected to them. »
« Wow! Huge insight! »
« Not rocket science mate. What worries me more is that someone would ask this question. »
