Hi there-I have had a 3 door Focus on a 54 plate for about 18 months now -the fuel economy I always thought was quite poor, but since using Bio diesel it has gone even more downhill . If anyone can give me a clue about this I would be very grateful Filling up usually costs me about 40-45 quid-usin..
« Documentation for my 54 plate 2.0TDCi warns that more that 5% bio diesel invalidates the warranty. This stuff might be alright for older 'tractor' diesel engines but it is not good for the fine bore.. »
« Thanks for that-can you give me an average mileage you get per fill up please? Just so I have an idea where I stand, before taking it back to the dealer. TIA »
« My '02 plate 1.8 TDCi Ghia was averaging about 52mpg when I traded it in in November. That's with the A/C on all the time, and a reasonable mix of short ( »
« Many thanks guys, am taking it in to the dealers this week. »

Can any later model cross-flow heads be attached to a 1971 Ford XY 6 cyl 250 engine block? Would this improve the fuel economy? Appreciate any information.

The fuel economy on my car has gone approximately in half. Went from around 22 mpg at 70 mph to around 10 to 11. I replaced the temp sensor, checked the mass air flow sensor, checked the idle speed motor? and have cleaned the throttle body. Also replaced the air filter all to no avail. No cod..
« Winter fuel blends. May have dirty injectors with poor spray pattern. Try some Techron injector cleaner. »
« I run Techron about every 10th tank or so. I should add that this issue occurred very suddenly, and is also intermittent. I can be driving at 70 mph show 12 - 14 mpg on the level and then suddenly.. »

"...if there is a second Clinton administration, led by Sen. Hillary Clinton, she plans to push to double the fuel economy of U.S. cars and trucks to 55 miles per gallon by 2030. "Sen. Clinton's ambitious energy platform is just one sign of how the auto industry has lost control of the fuel eff..
« Excellent. »
« Now there is a dreamy, pulled from the sky number. Sounds good, lets demand that automakers DOUBLE the mpg they get! Somebody just needs to tell her never held a job, doesn't know anything about che.. »
« Is that 55 number for all models from a manufacturer? Or, is it an average to be reached for an entire model line? »
« On 2007-11-22 08:09:56 -0800, "JoeSpareBedroom" said: It would have to be the latter. 55 mpg is never going to happen for pickups. I can imagine trying to tow a boat with a 55 mpg truck. Right. »
