If you have done front end work before its not too bad but the bearing is
pressed into the knuckle; so you will need to bring the knuckle and new
bearing to a shop that is willing to press in a new one for you. If you
have ABS be aware that the magnets for the ABS sensor are on one side of
the bearing in the seal, otherwise the bearing is symmetrical. So, BEFORE
going to the shop with everything find out which side goes toward the
sensor (inside) and make sure the mechanic puts it in that way.
Steps to remove knuckle:
1) Loosen lug nuts and spindle nut (32mm)
2) Lift car and remove wheel, brake, (7mm Allen) and ABS sensor
3) Separate tie rod taper at knuckle
4) Remove wafer nut from spindle
5) Mark location of knuckle on strut, loosen strut clamp and remove knuckle
Installation is opposite but be sure to carefully align knuckle with marks
on strut so you won't need an alignment right away. P.S. that wafer nut
goes back on at something like 280 ft.lbs.
