Took the 85 7 series in for its annual inspection and was not surprised to
learn that there was a crack in the pipe at the cat.
The shop offered to fix it for $3,000. After my jokes about gold plating and
cleaning my pipes, they recommended another shop that offered to do it for
only $1,700.
I called a few friends and got sent to a custom shop that offered to bend
custom pipes, put on a new heat shield and replace the scraped tail pipes and
cat for less than $300. They said to call back in about 90 minutes and it
should be done.
If anyone in Houston Tx. wants their info, I will gladly post in a couple of days.

JJ

i'm going to take a " wild " guess
that the first price was at a " dealer " !
folks should know that " custom "
exhaust people can save you a ton of money .
whatever type of vehicle .
i saved OVER $ 2500.00 on a range rover .
on my M3 it's all stainless .
custom shops will also do stainless but it cost a little
more BUT is totally worth the $$$ .
