My UK 2004 Focus TDCi is reporting error code $10 ECM P-0401 "exhaust gas
recirculation flow insufficient". It drives perfectly with no problem
apparent, good fuel economy (50 mpg) and no black smoke. The engine
management warning light came on about six months ago. I had the code reset
and the light went out and stayed out until a few weeks ago when the light
came on again. Yesterday I had the code reset again and the light is still
out today.

As the car drives perfectly is this likely to be caused by an intermittent
connector rather than a system fault?

Could anyone give me a clue as to which connector my be intermittent (and
where it is located on the car).

Thanks

Without checking the car, i would hazzard a guess that either your egr valve
is partially blocked, or the egr cooler is.

Which engine is this?

tim..

You Need an EGr Dpfe sensor... common failure and real easy to change

OBD Code says bad IAT - The check engine light on our US Version 2001 Focus LX (2.0 Liter SOHC) came on and we had the OBD checked. It says it's a bad IAT. Is the IAT part of the Mass Airflow Sensor or can it be replaced separately? If it's not part of the MAS where is it..

code problems - do any of you know about the error code P1506? I went to auto zone and could not get the part so i'm trying to find out what it is and where i can get it from. I think it has something to do with the idle or air flow with the car.

Code to unlock odometer - Ive heard that there is a code to unlock your odometer on the focus so that you can get an mph read out, miles of petrol left and other info. If anyone has this i would be greatful if you could share it with me!! I look forward to hearing from you

All New Ford Focus 2005 Problems With Car, Has anyone else? - I have a 2005 New Shape Ford Focus Ghia 1.6 Petrol that has had / has 6 things wrong with it, I was wondering if anyone out there has had any similar issues. 1. What else can go wrong? FORD 2000 - About a month ago my car overheated while I was sitting at a light. I started driving it and antifreeze went all over my windshield...not to mention all over my engine. When I took it to the mechanic, he replaced the thermostat, thermostat gasket,..
