Afternoon all

I like the amber side LED's (?) fitted to the E60 5 Series on the side
of the headlight housing (where it curves around to the side)Sorry cant
find a picture to link to.

Looking at my car it appears to have the mouldings there within the
housing for the lights/LED but I dont have the lights (or at least if I
do they don't work!)

Just wondering whether it is possible (and economical to fit the
same)and whether these were fitted as standard to the more upmarket
variants of my car or whether they were only introduced as a later revision.

Cheers

Alan

Naughty me responding to my own post - thought it might be of interest
some to coming across this in later years.

It turns out that these lights should have worked from the off and that
a software upgrade to the car (happily still under warranty - just!)
should sort the problem.

I'm having fun with my localmain BMW dealer at present - not sure if I
should be impressed or appalled, but so far he has replaced in the last
week all under warranty on my 05 525 SE D

Two door locking modules
Starter motor
Fixed an oil leak (inlet manifold)
Sorting out the lights issue above
Investigating a knocking felt through the steering wheel

Hope this is all as at £135 per hour labour I dont want to use his
services out of warranty.

Cheers

A

Don't. My experience of BMW main dealers in my area of the UK (South
London) says you're likely to get better and more honest service from
Kwik-Fit. I never once had a service or repair that was satisfactory. And
if I'm going to be ripped off by a garage I'd rather use one that doesn't
charge premium rates.
Find yourself a good specialist.
