What is the possibility of a serious wreck if a FWD vehicle has a
cracked strut?

The possibility depends on what part of the strut is cracked, how severely
it is cracked, and on the speed and attitude of the vehicle, traffic and
road conditions, and the skill of the driver if the strut fails
catastrophically.

Even if the vehicle is not in a wreck when the strut fails, it is possible
that the vehicle will sustain damage to other suspension parts, body, wheel,
or tire.

What's cracked?

I wouldn't go setting any land speed records, and your handling will be
horrible.

Are there wrecks that aren't serious?

Perhaps.

There are a lot of pots in this group that have cracks, too...

Brucie, read your posts several times to yourself before you hit the
"send" button.

To answer your question: Yes, some wrecks are not serious. In fact,
some are amusing.

For example, some months back, early one morning, a pickup truck hit
the rear of a Buick Century station wagon on Rt. 3 North somewhere
around Plymouth. Stove in the back of the POS wagon pretty good. The
wagon's owner walked away whining to the world, though.

Oh, wait ----- that was YOUR wagon.

Cracked STRUT? What do you mean by that?

Depending on what "cracked strut" means, there is serious possibility of a
serious wreck whether the car is FWD or RWD.
