I have a 2003 Corolla LE with 60K miles.

Bought new BFG Touring T/A tires a while back, and now the car rides as
noisy as all get-out......sounds like a 4-wheel drive truck humming down the
road. Tires are physically in great shape....no damage.....just a
constant "hummmm" as I drive down the road. The tires are rated as
"quiet", and the OEM Firestones I had on the car before....I just don't
remember them making any noise.

Is it the car?? Are other Corolla's noisy too?? These tires don't have a
lot of miles on them (maybe 20K), and I don't want to replace them, just to
have the new ones make the same noise.

Any suggestions??

Thanks, Regards, John

John, the reviews at tirerack.com all say that the BFG Traction T/A tires
are quiet. I would have the shop that installed them check them out.

Had the same problem with my '92 Corolla Wagon.

Turned out the tires were defective (cupped).

Sam's Club replaced them at a minimal cost.

I bought some Yokohamas for my Sienna and they were rather noisy until
they wore down a bit. It seems the tread was so deep it was making a
resonance that sounded like a hum. They are quiet now.
