The main thing to know is that you must replace the timing belt and it's
idler pulley at around 105k miles. It is customary (and wise) to also
replace the water pump at the same time. If the timing belt breaks, it
could cause very expensive engine damage, so don't skip the timing belt
change.
There are several smaller things that may go wrong on the way to 100k
miles - one of the most likely is failure of the transmission input and
output speed sensors (goes onto limp mode - stuck in 2nd gear; if
speedometer also does not work, then it's the output sensor) - sensors
are about $20 each, 15 minutes DIY job to replace. Other weak points are
window lift motors, window glass coming loose from the window lifts, and
door lock solenoids. Radiator fan motors also do wear out prior to 100k
miles.
Otherwise do regular checking and maintenance on brakes and tires,
change coolant (use *only* G-05) and thermostat, and replace the
transmission fluid (use *only* ATF+4) and filter at least once. Both
accessory belts and idler pulleys should be checked and replaced when
needed (the pulley bearings do go bad).
