« Check the connection to the knock sensor. I've had a loose connection there throw a knock sensor code before. Removing the connector and reattaching it solved the problem. Since you don't menti.. »
« In addition to the post about wiring, a vehicle that age could also have some carbon deposits built up in the engine that might make it a little more likely to exhibit knock - particularly after 1.. »
« Try high octane gas, if the light goes out, then the knock sensor is doing its job by detecting the knock. If it does not go out, then it could be a bad sensor or some other problem with the sensor.. »

« A CKPS should be cheap enough (less than $50) to try and fix this problem. The problem here I think is that the dealer may have heard CAMshaft Position Sensor (CMPS), which in some Nissan car, e.g.,.. »

I've started to get a regularly occuring check engine light. However the car runs perfectly. When I check the diagnastic code its always 71. That suppose to be an EGR system malfunction. I've check all the EGR components, EGR valve cleaned and tested, BVSV tested, EGR modulator cleaned and t..
« How did you test the EGR valve? How did you test the BVSV, EGR modulator, and EGR gas temp sensor? -- Ray O (correct punctuation to reply) »
« Ray I have a factory shop manual and basically followed the procedures for testing the emissions controls. The EGR valve was removed and tested on the bench. Negative presure from a vacuum source.. »

My 1999 Acura TL check engine light on, with an error code p0401, which translates into "EGR flow insufficient detected" Any guru knows what it means, and how/where to fix this problem. TIA
« $OR.5899@trnddc01: It means exactly what the description says it means. The cause is carbon buildup choking off the passages in the EGR system, resulting in impeded gas flow. The cure is to get rid.. »
