What a bummer. I hate the NASCAR "Chase". These chase
systems seem to reflect our society. They take from the
rich/high point people/racers and give to the poor. I always
thought NHRA was legit. Even the team orders controversy is
distasteful to me. But I guess we have to accept things as
they are. SIGH

Thanks 1932 Coupe for the link.

as someone who used to go to the wednesday night meets at ocir and has
followed the drags since the combination of this new points system nhra
had adopted, the tv coverage with the personalities involved, the ticket
prices and the s***ty experience my family had at infineon last summer i
for one am very close to abandoning that sport. nhra seems to be making
the racing secondary with the business aspect of it coming first.

I quit FRANCECAR when me and family was told it would cost $300
a night for a MINIMUM of 3 nights for a well worn out $29.95
room.

Without a doubt, the competition is secondary to the "show". The countdown
is only good for the TV time and attention it is suppose to increase.
