Post subject: Celica 88 Factory Defect (electrical power)?
Archived from groups: alt>autos>toyota (more info?)

Since I got this car, I've noticed when I hit the brakes, my
instrument panel's light goes dim, and my starboard brake lights, on
the end of the power string, are dimmer than my portside's lights.
I've also noticed this on other Celicas on the road.

This signals to me that the power is not fully transferred from the
engine compartment to the cabin and rear.

Lately this is getting worse, I diagnosed a starter problem (no turn
whatsover) to the selenoid lead dropping to 5volts! when cranking.

Have u guys seen this?

What's the problem? bad ground? thin power cables? worn fuses/switch
giving lots of resistance?
