Post subject: 2.2 Cavalier

I have an 96 cavalier with the 2.2 and it makes alot of lifter noise. Is it common(150xxx) for the 2.2? Can I adjust the lash like the old small blocks? Dont want to replace the head yet it runs to good, only does it when warmed up. Any help would be great.
