All things appearing equal, HP, weight, etc, is the performance similar in
all venues? Derrick

Horsepower, weight, and suspension are not the same but close in some
cases. If you are comparing the C5 ZO6 with the C6 that have the LS2
engine, yes only fairly close, but the 2008 with the LS3 is 25 to 32
horsepower stronger than the old Z. Any 2008 with the Z51 package can
beat the C5 Z06 although it's hard to do because most of the old Z06s
have been modified to run and are good at it. The C6 puts the power to
the road much better but weigh more.

So a plain C6 will suffer on the handling but the 2008 would compare
in a straight line encounter. Other wise the old Z06 will still have
the edge because of weight and a better chassis setup unless you
option the 2008 with the Z51 package which takes it out of the plain
vanilla, (Sally Rand in my day), category.

Dad makes some good points. The Z06, especially the last one in 2004 is a
better handling car than the plain C6. And I'd even think the smaller
engine will rev. up faster than the C6. Plus, imagine you could save a few
bucks.

My old 2004 Z06 is on the Michael's Chevrolet parking lot in Fresno CA. It
is in pristine condition. 22,000 miles. New tires. Custom
professionally installed Pioneer/ARC stereo system. Call my friend Michael
Ruiz to inquire at (559) 363-2477 to inquire. They've got it over-priced
and will be ready to deal!
