ask the dealer sales manager for their invoice sheet. my guess it has bogus
#'s on it. then ask them about the 3% holdback on msrp.

try this. shop around. you'll most likely get same ballpark price from every
dealer (these are market value vehicles). with the 2nd to best price go back
and tell them to take out the holdback. if they do then you got a winner. if
they don't, go buy the best price you got.

Gary,

3% of msrp is what the wholesaler will give the dealer after the car is
sold. 1300 off of msrp sounds very very high( if your #'s are correct). i
would expect 3000-3500 off of msrp would be their sell price.

so if with all you want the mdx comes out to 42000 msrp, then expext to pay
around 39000 +tax/title. you can try and haggle using holdback as a crutch,
but do not expect to get much.

i only give these #'s because of my recent buy of thr TL. before i went
shopping i had to do some research as to how Acura sells. i know Toyota so
good the dealers hate when i come buying.

my best advice would be, be very patient. shop around, almost sign a few
deals and walk away. wait some time and they'll be calling you back which
gives them another chance to sell you, and you can again demand your price
(within reason).

k
