£700 excess??? The most I have ever seen as an option was £250 and going
higher than £150 didn't make much difference to the policy prive. Who are
you with?

Check with your insurance - glass is usually £50 excess.

In Holland itens like iPod, CD's etc are not covered by the car insurrance
but but the household insurrance (like a theft from your home for those
items that actuallly belong to your household ant not primarily to your car)
And, IMHO there is no excess on household insurrance.......

Same in the UK - personal items up to a certain amount are covered, but
there is probably a clause about leaving them unattended! Also, insurance
companies always ask about previous claims for home insurance, so I presume
the price for future home insurance would be higher.

as long as you had the car properly locked, it is considered to be "properly
attended"
