Looks like the Barrett Jackson bubble may have popped a second time this
year. Yesterday a beautiful 1969 Corvette Lemans Blue 427/435 sold for
$50,000.

Whoa!

More to come though.

Saw a note on the news this week that GM will
place its museum assets on public sale.
Exception will be for "one of a kind" specimens.

No particulars but, everything is becoming a
'cost center.' Sheltering and dusting off those
old darlings did have a price.

I thought I saw Harley Earls old lady's 56 Road Master go for $30,000.. Some
of the GM Museum cars have been the best steals.

Just saw a 62 SS Impala HT go for $25,000 and a 63 Grand prix 421 525 HP
$32,000?

My first new car was a 64 Impala SS. 300hp 4 speed, tach on the
dash/column and was $3371 out the door. Tax and license. September
of 1963. Would love to have that car back. Sold it in 1968 for a POS
new Dodge Charger 383. Still one of Americas pretty cars. Still a
POS. The charger not the SS.

Looks like the economy has really hurt Classic Car prices as of late.
When times were good, that car would have fetched another
$30-40,000 .

Notice how the Hemi's all stayed home?

Also makes you wonder is the bubble didn't pop but rather Barrett Jackson
isn't overpriced like it used to be.

Has anyone considered what these car sold for new? I think, in
general, they are selling for what they are worth.
