Snicker. I, too, have had cars with auto-climate. A very nice touch. That has been the only real thing I missed when I bought my '01 Santa Fe which has manual. After your story, I guess I'm thankful for what I have.

My vehicle is a 2000 9-3 base model that has manual climate control (the AC/Heat panel with the knobs). I know someone with a wrecked 1999 9-3 SE. I have pulled the ACC panel from it and would like to install the Automatic Climate Control (ACC) system in my vehicle. It should be compatible, correc..

Hello All, I have a strange problem with my 1980 300TD ACC with the Servo based system. First of all, all the major components have been changed (Servo, amp, etc). Servo runs fine through hot/cold, holds temp well, etc. The problem is the fan speeds. When AC Compressor switch is set to "Off", th..
« Who says the fan speed should differ between heat and cool? It doesn't. Fan speed is controlled by the servo based on the temperature difference that needs to be closed i.e. 100 degrees vs. 70 degr.. »
« Actually, it does. In cooling, the blower has a max speed that is one setting higher than in heat mode. But, I think what he's saying is that the fan doesn't get anywhere near fast enough to wo.. »

Hi, I have a question about the 2003 Camry XLE's automatic climate control system. When the AC is on, does the system recirculate the air inside the cabin instead of bringing in fresh outside air regardless of the position of the Fresh/Recirc button? I notice that the 03 Prius exhibits this anno..
« The Recir/Fresh will do as you tell it until you select any setting that directs output to the windshield in whole or in part. Then the default will be FRESH. I cannot speak to a default to FRESH .. »
« Not true. When in automatic mode, the Climate Control will switch back and forth from fresh to recirculate. Not sure what parameters determine when it switches... »

My sonata has the automatic climate control without knobs and without the cabin filter. The fan will only turn on if you select the highest speed. All the other functions seem to work like normal, meaning no matter what the fan speed is set at I can change modes for the vent positions, temp contro..
« The control commands high speed by grounding a relay. Other speeds are commanded by duty cycling a power transistor. There are several possibilities, but I'll give you ten to one odds the problem .. »
« And that looks to be located somewhere near the blower according to the schematic. Thanks for the tip! »
« I can't recall whether it's behind the center of the dash or in the blower box where the resistor would normally be. The schematics have links at the bottom of the page. One of these is for a comp.. »
« Unfortunitly the PT isn't the issue or at least not all of it. Installing a new one didn't resolve the problem. Do you have any other ideas? »
