AirCon in off positions

What is the deal with people thinking something is wrong because of their
Explorers' compressor is running? I remember a long thread a few weeks back
about someone who wanted to disable the compressor because he just "felt
like it didn't need to be running." The only thing I can figure is that
people are such big control freaks, they can't handle the idea that whoever
designed their vehicles had a legitimate reason for making things work a
certain way.

OOps sorry didn't want to upset anyone! It just seemed strange that it
comes on for a few seconds at random intervals even in the depths of
winter, with no clue in the hand book. as to why

It dehumidifies the air (junior school science.... I dropped out in grade
to help reduce fogging on the windscreen and other glass....

myusdickus is merely adequate for the task at hand..... must leave some
blood for thought process....

It also keeps the seals lubricated from what I've heard to help avoid
expensive repairs.
