Is $26,000 a good price for a 2006 Outback XT? It's the last one on the
lot, and I'm being told it's a terrific bargain. Of course, I'm being
told by the sales person...
Thanks in advance.

It seems pretty good to me, but I only looked at the Kelly Blue Book
info.

2 resources I used in beating the snot out of the dealer on my new car
purchase were
edmunds.com (free, informative)

Consumers Union's new car price service $14
WELL worth the money for it's great format showing dealer
costs on every feature which is very nice ot have broken out
when comparing vehicles on the dealer lot that all have
slightly different options packages:

K&N for Outback - I have a 97 Outback wagon automatic. Since I can't get a cold air intake for the car, I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience replacing just the air filter -- performance, mileage, etc. In other words, will it pay for itself over time....

'97 Outback oil consumption - My new/used Outback is going through a quart of oil about every 2000 miles. This sounds about normal to me. What say you? The engine has about 35k on it. Thanks. Sheldon sheldon@sopris.net

1997 Subaru Outback - Looking at getting this rig, however, there is a slight tick in the engine, particular when you rev it up. Is this something I should be concerned with? 160kms and timing belt changed.

New tires for an Outback? - It's time for new tires on my 2000 Outback, and I'm debating what to get. Right now I'm debating between either Goodyear Assurance TripleTred and BF Goodrich Traction T/A-H tires. Any useful comments are welcome, especially in areas regarding gas..

07 outback questions - Thinking of getting a new 07 outback. Will the manual transmission be better than my 98 Forester? (I hope so as it's a little finnicky) Our Forester has been pretty reliable but what about the outbacks? Searching finds some people have had..
