Doesn't all businesses interests lie with $max$ profits? Your best
place for service on an Acura is at an Acura dealer. If the dealer you
are using is "ripping" you off then go to another dealer but I do not
recommend Midas for axle repairs and the such because most if not all
use inferior replacement parts that are no more than worn out joints
with new boots installed. Rebuilding an axle is more than just putting
new boots on it. If the joint is damaged it needs replaced. Of course
there are exceptions but I still believe that the people most informed
about your Acura is an Acura mechanic who only does work on Acura's
and has the resources to fix problems.

$Max$ profit in what sector? New cars and/or parts & labor? If you
say Midas uses refurbished old parts, why would they be any worse (and
considerably cheaper) than OEM Acura axles? Why did the OEM parts fail in
the first place?!? I'm not saying to avoid Acura but rather including Midas
(which warrants their parts/labor in all states). My 40+ years of dealing
Midas has always been positive. Always check the warranty you get with any
repairs!

Well, your logic would hold true but in my case it doesn't, because twice I
took it to Acura dealers. The first one screwed up a perfectly good CV
joint, telling me that simple repacking of bearings and replacing the CV
boots would suffice. After a 300 mile trip, it was evident the CV joint was
bad. The second dealer took at CV axle off and replaced it with one that
was too dam short.

I don't know if these two dealers are exceptions, especially one right after
another. I do know that at one time Acura was a dam good car and the
dealers were dam good. I'm not so sure anymore. I've heard that Acura cars
have gone downhill a lot. Apparently so have the dealer service
departments. That's why I'm shopping around for a better car than the
present day Acura POSs.

I haven't been thrilled with my Acura dealer's service on my 94 GSR,either.
There's only two dealers in town, and the other one is way far away.I've
been a solid Honda-Acura customer for many years now(since 1979),but I
don't like much of their current offerings.Don't like the RSX compared to
the Integras(getting more egg-shaped),and I'm sad that the Prelude went
away,don't want a 2-seater like the S2000,but like sporty,fast cars.

I've never had a problem with any Acura dealer (multi-state) but
agree with the current designs for the RSX vs Integra. I preferred the "low
beltline" designs that ended with Mr. Honda's death. Apparently Honda's
post-Honda minions decided to mimic the Toyota-crowd's "egg" designs.
Not very impressive. The RSX's "prow" looks like a "beak" .. . not sleek.
High beltline designs restrict side and rear vision .. . ungraceful . ..
cumbersome. Honda should do a re-think, IMHO. They wouldn't design an NSX
thus .. .
