Archived from groups: alt>ford>falcon (more info?)

Last night while driving my AU it started to miss at idle, it then missed
and sputtered under acceleration over the next 5 klms until I got home. I
checked it out while in my garage but could only get it to run well while
fiddling with the spark plug leads. As I needed the car over the weekend and
didn't have time to work on it myself I considered myself lucky to get it
into my local dealer today, after checking it out they called and told me it
needed new plugs and a couple of leads, total $200, when I queried why the
plugs would be crook after only 25k I was informed that at the 50k service
someone had replaced the plugs with Bosch instead of Motorcraft and that was
the problem. I had my car tuned at 50k by Home Tune instead of my Ford
dealer so I couldn't argue this issue, the car is now running smoothly and
I've been parted with my dollars. Such is life!!!

And they wonder why no one ever gets their cars serviced at the ford
dealerships anymore. "nobody knows your ford like we do" no one charges as
much either.
