ABS warning light related to clutch problem?

i have a 2.0 tdi passat estate. the warning triangle and ABS light has been coming on after braking since i got it in march and the handling is near impossible on slippery surfaces. lately on trying to edge up to a junction on a hill covered in ice i almost burnt the clutch out.car was skidding all over the place. burning smell and smoke everywhere tho this seems to have calmed down. it is due a service. previous services were carried out by the owner. also been getting intermittent juddering that is felt throughout and is still there when idling . this goes away if i switch off and restart.help!
