This may have nothing at all to do with your problem, but give it a shot. I
used to have a 1997 Dodge Caravan (I know Chrysler not GM), that had a
similar problem. On this vehicle there is what they affectionally call a
'Body Control Module' which controls all of the interior electrical
functions. Our problem would occur also when the ABS light would come on,
nothing inside the van would work, air conditioning, windows, door locks. I
tried to figure this one out for months, and was about to replaced the
module (seems the problem only occurred when my wife would drive). Anyway,
finally got it down to where I could duplicate the problem, and it was in
the ignition switch. My wife when she started the van, would somehow leave
the key hung slightly between 'Run' and 'Start'.
Don't know if this will help, but seems strange to see the same type of
problem in GM vehicle.
