Post subject: ABS Problems

I have been driving my 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe and once out of every six or seven times I break the anti-lock brakes come on. I am driving at normal speed and braking normally. The ABS light is not on, and this problem has surfaced in the last month or so.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what would be causing it?

Thank you for your assistance. I have taken it in for repair twice to address this and none of the repairs has fixed the problem.

Hi,

I am in the Uk and have a 2002 santa Fe petrol 2.7 auto. I think I have the same problem as you. The garage have changed the g force sensor since that is what their diagnostocs said it was - but the problem persists.

Did you solve it? Question

Regards

Unfortunately no, I have not solved the problem. The garage I took it to after the second round of repairs said it may be the sensor, but I had already lost conidence in them. So, thank you for letting me know that may not be it either.

I am going to take it into the dealer next week. I will post again if they can determine the cause.

Hi, tell your mechanic to remove the rust or mud on your axle shafts ring gears. The clearence between those gears and the sensors is too small. It should be between 0.3 and 0.9 mm. Good luck!
