I had this problem, it was a connector that was loose, became
overheated, corroded , burnt insulation from over amp due to bad
connection, I removed the connector, used wire nuts instead and magic,
no more problem.
It was hard to see too, took quite a bit of eye balling to realize it
was just that problem. it was the wire coming from the fan relay control
box and goes from there directly to the fan motor with a CONNECTOR
inline. (behind the glove box)
